What is Winkel 43 famous for?

Winkel 43 is famous for its apple pie, and for good reason. Freshly baked daily, with a thick crunchy crust, soft spiced apples, and a large dollop of whipped cream. But regulars know there is more: a real Amsterdam café on the corner of the Noordermarkt and the Westerstraat, in the heart of the Jordaan. The terrace is one of the sunniest in Amsterdam, the menu changes monthly, and on Mondays and Saturdays, market days, there is a special market menu. The kind of place you keep coming back to.

How can I order at Winkel 43?

Just walk in, reservations are unfortunately not possible. On Mondays and Saturdays during the day, during the market, you order at the bar and find a spot yourself. At all other times, and always in the evening, we have table service. Would you like to take a whole pie home? Order in advance via our order form and pick it up on a day and time that suits you.

Yes. Order a whole apple pie via our order form and pick it up yourself on a chosen day and time. Unfortunately, we do not deliver, nor do we send by mail.

When is it busiest?

On Monday and Saturday mornings it is extra busy because of the market on the Noordermarkt. It can also be quite busy on weekends and during the afternoon hours. During the week in the morning or early in the evening it is much quieter, when you can really enjoy the atmosphere on the square.

How far is Winkel 43 walking from Amsterdam Central Station?

Winkel 43 is about a 15-minute walk from Amsterdam Central, a beautiful walk straight through the Jordaan. Coming by tram? The Westermarkt or Marnixstraat stop is closest.

What is on the menu?

Besides the apple pie, we serve breakfast, lunch, drinks snacks, and dinner. The lunch menu changes monthly, the dinner menu daily. No complicated menu, but tasty and affordable. There are also vegetarian and vegan options.

Does Winkel 43 have a terrace?

Yes, on two sides of the building, on the Noordermarkt and the Westerstraat. On sunny days it is one of the nicest places in the neighborhood to sit outside, summer and winter.

Is Winkel 43 wheelchair accessible?

Is a high chair available?

We do not have a high chair. Families are of course welcome, there is plenty of space on the terrace.
