Winkel 43 is expanding: more space, more coziness at the Noordermarkt
Winkel 43 is opening an expansion next to its original location on the Noordermarkt. More space, shorter waiting times, and a spot for breakfast, lunch, and drinks.
Anyone who has ever walked past the Noordermarkt on a Saturday knows the sight: a queue of people waiting patiently for a seat, a cup of coffee, and a slice of the famous apple pie. That popularity is something to be proud of, but to be fair: waiting is not always fun. We are doing something about that now.
We have taken over the adjacent building and fully furnished it as an extension of our location at the Noordermarkt. More space for our guests, less waiting outside, and a place where you can also just walk in for a beer or a drink without necessarily coming for the apple pie. Because Winkel 43 is more than that, and it should feel that way too.
A place for everyone, all day long
The Jordaan is traditionally a neighborhood where people meet, and a café that is accessible to everyone fits in perfectly. Not just a destination for the famous apple pie, but an authentic Amsterdam café where you can go from early morning until late at night.
Whether you are visiting the market on Saturday, looking for a quiet lunch during the week, or just fancy a cozy drink with a bitterbal in the heart of the Jordaan. What many people do not know is that you can also dine with us. We have a changing menu featuring many Dutch classics. As always, the prices are very affordable.
With the new space added, it will be easier to visit us at any time of the day, even during the busiest moments.
Investing in a better experience
The expansion is not the only thing changing. In April, we already renovated our coffee corner, allowing us to now use a brand new and better espresso machine. In June, the toilets of the original location will follow. An improvement we had in mind for a while, and we are also updating our kitchen at the same time.
Step by step, we are investing in more comfort and a better experience for everyone who steps over our threshold. Because the Jordaan deserves a café that continues to innovate, without losing its character. We are still here, just a bit bigger.
